Your Message	It is with great enthusiasm that I announce my candidacy for the Florida Senate. This represents a wonderful opportunity to continue serving my constituents in the Florida Legislature. I intend to meet it with the same determination and commitment that I have brought to the Florida House of Representatives. It has been my privilege to serve the residents of House District 114, the only district fully encompassed in Senate District 38, over the past three terms, and I look forward to building on that experience by representing our community in the State Senate. As a life-long resident of District 38, having been active since my teen years in many community and civic affairs, I know that I am uniquely qualified to advocate for our District. I feel that my well-reasoned, conservative voice on a broad range of social and economic issues is the voice that can best represent the residents of this community and their values. My ability to work for, and with, all constituencies, has earned both the respect and support of a majority of the electorate, across the political spectrum. This decision was made after much thought and with the encouragement of family, friends and especially, in response to the urging of my constituents. This is a race that will be won in the hearts and homes of Kendall, Westchester, Fontainebleau and all the neighborhoods in District 38. We will win because we will work hard, visit your homes, listen to your needs and concerns and devote all our passion, work-ethic and commitment to represent you in the Florida Senate. We will win because since 2004 we have worked together successfully – I have counted on you, and you have reelected me twice – You have counted on me and I have listened and carried your message to Tallahassee. I will continue to do so from the Senate. I look forward to working very hard over the coming months to listen to all your needs and demands and to earn your support and your vote.
